Here’s How Jorge Masvidal Transformed His Body Since the First Time He Fought Kamaru Usman
Jorge Masvidal has the opportunity to taste UFC gold for the first time this weekend against Kamaru Usman. ‘Gamebred’ has been given an opportunity that probably no one else has ever been given in the promotion. An immediate rematch for the title after getting absolutely dominated in the first fight with two judges scoring the fight 50-45 is unheard of.
However, given that ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ wanted the rematch, and that Masvidal is a huge name in the sport, it only made sense for the UFC to run it back between the two men. This fight will be in stark contrast to the first one for Masvidal. A full training camp is one of the many changes.

Can Jorge Masvidal avenge his loss at UFC 261 against Kamaru Usman?
One of the main changes that comes with being part of a full training camp is better physical conditioning. Masvidal accepted the first fight on less than a week’s notice and that was clear when he stepped into the octagon.
Masvidal was not as lean as he usually is when he competes and understandably so as he did not go through a rigorous training camp. Compared to his last win against Nate Diaz at UFC 244, Masvidal came in a lot leaner and in better shape than he did for UFC 251.
Masvidal did not particularly struggle to last five rounds with the champion at UFC 251. However, with a full training camp under him ‘Gamebred’ can use a lot more of his offense without worrying about getting tired in the later rounds. If recent pictures are anything to go by, ‘Gamebred’ looks in incredible shape as he prepares for a rematch. In a video posted on his Instagram page, Masvidal looks extremely lean, more so than he has ever before.
‘Gamebred’s’ fans will be hoping that he would have focused on his wrestling and takedown defense in order to keep the fight on the feet where he has the best chance.
What do you make of the rematch between the two men? Do you think the result will be the same as the first fight? Or do you think Masvidal can get his hand raised this time out? Let us know in the comments below!
