Michiel Huisman has revealed that his sex scenes with Kaley Cuoco on The Flight Attendant were awkward to film as the actress was ‘so uncomfortable’.

Kaley, 35, stars as the lead role of alcoholic flight attendant Cassie Bowden, while Michiel, 39, plays a handsome stranger she meets on a flight and who she finds dead in her bed with his throat slit the following morning following their hook-up.

Despite the steamy scene on camera, Michiel revealed that it was actually uncomfortable to shoot the scenes as Kaley had never done one before.

He revealed on This Morning: ‘Of course I didn’t realise, but for some reason she had never done a love scene before, I guess that never happened on The Big Bang Theory

‘So when we were doing a fairly decent… we’re making out on the bed, under the covers, we’re doing our first scene like that and I noticed she was sort of hovering on top of me, she’s not really sitting on my legs.’

Michiel explained that ‘hovering’ started to take its toll on Kaley as the takes rolled on: ‘After like take three she starts to shake a little bit and I’m like “Kaley, what are you doing? Just sit down!”.

‘And it turned out that she was so uncomfortable and she had no idea how to do this thing. She was trying not to touch me.’

The series, which has become a massive hit, was produced by Kaley’s company Yes, Norman Productions and she also serves as an exec producer on the show.

She previously revealed to Metro.co.uk that she wanted to ‘prove herself’ in the role following her sitcom success.

Kaley explained: ‘I was taking a risk, because I don’t believe in my heart that someone would have hired me to play this role.

‘I could have auditioned, and I might have even given the audition of my life; I don’t think someone would have given me this role.

‘So I wanted to prove that I can actually do more and that I love it. And it was a risk that I’m glad that I took.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
