Line Of Duty fans are convinced they’ve identified another rotten apple working alongside Acting Detective Superintendent Jo Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) and the rest of the team.

In recent scenes, AC-12 not only discovered Jo has links to the OCG, but that the dead gang leader Tommy Hunter (Brian McArdie) is also her blood relative.

On top of all that, undercover gang member Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper) is embedded in her team and was last seen pointing a gun at Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) in a sweat-inducing showdown at the end of episode five.

To make matters even worse, eagle-eyed viewers suspect that there’s another bad egg on the team who has yet to be identified.

‘Who?’ we hear you cry. None other than Detective Sergeant Chris Lomax (Perry Fitzpatrick).

In scenes that aired on Sunday night, AC-12’s Chloe Bishop (Shalom Brune-Franklin) investigated the death of Lawrence Christopher, a black man who was killed in police custody in 2003.

Chloe revealed a snapshot of the gang members involved in the death, which creator Jed Mercrurio based on Stephen Lawrence and Christopher Alder, and viewers spotted Chris in the line-up.

Taking their findings to Twitter, one person wrote: ‘Mother of God! Why is DS Chris Lomax on AC-12’s photo wall?’

‘Chris Lomax appears to be on the pin board at AC-12,’another pointed out. ‘Hmmm.’

However, Line Of Duty is packed with red herrings so fans will have to sit tight to see whether this theory has any legs to it as there could be other answers for the finding.

For example, could Chris’s mugshot be evidence that he’s working undercover on the case for AC-12?

Earlier on in series six, fans spotted a letter ‘H’ on the tiles in Steph Corbett’s kitchen and a set of golf clubs in DCI Ian Buckells’s (Nigel Boyle) office.

Line Of Duty airs Sundays at 9pm on BBC One.
