Skip Bayless Rejects Warriors’ Steph Curry from Entering His All-time Top 20 NBA Players List
To the analysts who believed Steph Curry last enjoyed his peak in 2016, the man is now writing a letter of complaint. If anything, he has been at par with his championship year performance in April. The result of his herculean show is readable in the winning graph of the Warriors who are back as a potential threat.
The Warriors are 6-4 in the last 10 games and now eye a slim hope of making it to the Top six of WC. For them to achieve any such milestone, Steph Curry will have to continue his commanding play on the court. But is it that Steph is now a deserving candidate to enter the Top 20 list of NBA players?
NBA analyst completely disagreed with Steph Curry joining the greats
Skip Bayless, a popular NBA analyst, has always been critical of Steph Curry and his achievements. He never saw in Curry what he saw in the legends that have blessed the league in the past. In a recent interview, he confirmed that in his own words.
The 69-YO expressed, “I’ve got Hakeem, I’ve got Oscar, I’ve got Dr J. These are all better than Steph, right here, right now. I’ve got David Robinson, you think not? Karl Malone, second all-time leading scorer. I’ve got Bill Walton, he dominated pro basketball very few dominated. He got hurt. He took it over, he was the runaway MVP, regular season, finals. I haven’t seen that from Steph yet. I haven’t seen him take over in the biggest moments. I’m sorry, I still have Dirk in my top, in my second tier to be the Top 20, did not win finals MVP? Jerry West, he’s better right there over Steph.”

Clearly, he left out a three-time NBA Champion who revolutionized the game of basketball.

The Warriors’ star point guard for the MVP?
In the last 11 games, Steph has averaged 40 ppg, 54% FG, 50% 3P accuracy, and made 78 threes. This has forced his name into the MVP conversation that is led by Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic. However, Skip Bayless rejected his candidacy heads-on and gave his reasoning behind the tough call. The outspoken sports columnist listed out his worst pre-April three-point games to make his point. Check it out –
Funny thing about ppl saying Steph should be this yr’s MVP: Until April he was having a disappointing season, on pace to shoot career worst from 3. Here are 8 of his pre-April games from 3: 1-11, 1-10, 1-8, 1-6, 2-11, 2-10, 2-10, 2-9. Even after recent surge, GSt is 29-29, in 9th

He even went on to call the Warriors’ all-time top-scorer as “unclutch” and listed the playoff games where he arguably choked.
In 2009 I might have been THE ONLY ONE on TV to say Steph should go No. 1 over Blake. Steph went 7th. But in playoffs, he has not lived up to 2 MVPs. Dare you to look hard at Games 5,6,7 in ’16 Finals, Games 4, 6 in ’19. Disaster from floor & 3. So unclutch. 4 of the 5 at home!

In all these talks, Mr. Bayless forgot to consider that Chef Curry is playing with a team that lacks Klay Thompson and James Wiseman, among other injured players. It is him, who has kept their postseason hopes alive, and that comes only from a legendary player.
