UFC Featherweights Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon Verbally Agree to Fight in July in a Social Media Exchange

UFC newcomer Paddy Pimblett took to Twitter and may very well have taken care of match-making for his UFC debut. The English fighter turned his attention towards fellow featherweight fighter Jared Gordon for a scrap in late July. ‘Flash’ Gordon was quickly on board as he was looking for a fight at a fast-tracked timeline.

UFC match-making on Twitter has especially experienced a boom in the pandemic era of fights. Fighters are looking to stay active whilst also making sure they secure match-ups in favorable locations and overall conditions. Chiefly, the aforementioned fight between Pimblett and Gordon may very well be official in short order.

However, as it stands, the UFC hasn’t come out and officially co-signed their verbal agreement. Time will be the best indicator to see whether the former Cage Warriors featherweight champ in Pimblett has his next course of action set.

Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon: An Overview

Pimblett comes in with a 16-3 record and as mentioned earlier, he has a championship-caliber resume attached to his name. The Englishman entering the UFC made massive headlines and captured the attention of the MMA community. In fact, this may very well be one of the reasons that Jared Gordon was keen to pick up the scrap.

Paddy Pimblett has suffered a few losses in his career, however, the promise he’s showcased in the cage is unmatched. He’s a welcome addition to the featherweight division, which is arguably too heavily concentrated at the top currently. ‘Flash’ Gordon is an established name in the division and the fight is appealing on the basis of their styles.

Jared Gordon most certainly brings the fight to his opponent every time he steps under the bright lights of the octagon. Gordon is 5-3 in the UFC and is currently riding a two-fight win streak after defeating Danny Chavez most recently. While he’s fallen short against some of the more elite fighters like Charles Oliveira and Diego Ferreira, he is confident he can stifle Pimblett’s hype.

What would you make of the aforementioned bout coming to fruition?
