Ex-WWE star EC3 hospitalised with ‘extensive’ infection and wants to be left ‘alone’
Wrestler EC3 has been hospitalised as he battles an ‘extensive’ infection.
The 38-year-old star – who is best known for his time with WWE and IMPACT Wrestling – has given fans an update and urged his friends not to contact him.
In an Instagram post under the heading ‘#ControlYourNarrative CAN KILL YOU’, he wrote: ‘That’s not strictly just an attention grabbing headline. it’s more of an update.
’Short version; an infection I neglected proper care for, put others people’s needs before mind, went straight empath, caught up to me and broke me.
’Long version; it’s extensive, I’ve been hospitalized 5 days and we’ll need longer.’
EC3 urged people to comment on social media rather than contacting him directly, and said he ‘will heal’.
He continued: ‘Anyways I will heal, if you want to help drop a comment or a thought or affirmation. ‘Please do no not text. PLEASE.all I ask. If you want to help let me be alone,
‘#DONTTEXTIMEANINITANDDONTHUNYTMEDOWN #LETMESLEEP #THANKS (sic)’
EC3 hasn’t offered any further updates about his condition or the nature of the infection.
Last summer, the star exclusively told Metro.co.uk how his return to IMPACT Wrestling at the time helped him rediscover his passion after a tough two year spell in WWE.
He said at the time: ‘I would say 100% [I stopped watching wrestling] because of the past few years.
‘I was so unhappy with it that I had to disconnect myself from it – OK this is a job. This isn’t passion, this isn’t love – a lot of people hate their jobs, and it sucks, it’s really hard to do.
‘It’s kinda how it went, but fortunately something captured my attention, and the ability to tell my story.’
However, being back in IMPACT – which he noted was the same company from his previous stint in name only – helped ‘reinvigorate’ his life long love for wrestling.
‘”Control your narrative”, so to speak, reinvigorated my passion where now I am watching more and seeing things from a fan’s perspective,’ he added.
‘I’m also tuning back into stuff that made me a fan.
‘I hadn’t watched stuff I loved from the past for a long time, but I noticed when I’m thriving off the passion and emotion of what I’m doing, I’m more engaged with studying things from the past and reviewing why I chose to sacrifice so much to come this far.’
