Machine Gun Kelly’s gruesome new neck tattoo is not for the faint of heart
If you like your tattoos unnerving and gruesome, well, Machine Gun Kelly has the inking for you.
The rapper has guaranteed daily double takes in his direction in his future, after getting a gory slash tattooed down the centre of his neck.
The 31-year-old debuted his fresh ink on Instagram, sharing a post reading: ‘bye bye neck. 💉’
In the accompanying picture, Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, had a red vertical line tattooed down his throat, and looked unnervingly like a real cut.
He also shared a video of the tattooing process, saying: ‘If anyone ever liked my neck… it’s gonna look different.’
While many of his fans and friends called the tatt ‘hardcore’ and ‘gnarly’, others simply questioned ‘why’ the Bloody Valentine star wanted to look like he had a fatal injury.
Machine Gun Kelly seemed to know that the tattoo might not be to everyone’s taste, as he later tweeted: ‘yatted the neck. sorry [sic].’
His neck was one of the only places MGK hadn’t yet got tattooed, having around 80 pieces of body art including a sign of the 71 North route, signifying his childhood home, on his arm, a double-decker bus on his ribcage, Salvador Dali’s The Temptation of Saint Anthony covering his back, his initials on his shoulders, the name of his album Tickets To My Downfall on his collarbone, and a guardian angel on his stomach, to name but a few.
He already has another wound tattoo on his body, with a red bloody gash on his chest signifying a heartbreak.
Machine Gun Kelly got the tattoo ahead of his 31st birthday, and celebrated with friends and his girlfriend Megan Fox earlier this week.
The couple, who have been dating for nearly a year, were seen holding hands as they arrived for dinner at Los Angeles hotspot Delilah.
Over on MGK’s Instagram stories, he was seen kissing the 34-year-old actress as friends sang happy birthday and presented him with a cake.
The couple met while filming Midnight in the Switchgrass and got together after Megan’s split from husband Brian Austin Green, with whom she shares three children.
Since then, they have been inseparable, and even began wearing necklaces containing a drop of each other’s blood.
Blood and necks come up at lot in conversation with Machine Gun Kelly, it seems.
