‘Nothing Like Winning a Match Point’: Maria Sharapova Details Her Transition From Tennis to Business World

It was a heartbreaking moment for fans when Maria Sharapova bid goodbye to the sport at the Australian Open 2020. She was 32 at that time, and what was even more shocking was that she took the decision quite suddenly. However, she is a proud businesswoman today and continues to inspire young entrepreneurs.

In a recent Instagram video, Maria Sharapova talked about her transition from the tennis court to the business world. Even though she is the owner of the candy brand ‘Sugarpova’ today, she believes that nothing can match the feeling of winning a Grand Slam.

“There is nothing, there will be nothing like winning a match point and a Grand Slam. But when you are working with people that you respect, when you see the trajectory of a brand that you believed in, particularly in the earlier stages and which personally you had an impact based on your experience,” said Sharapova.

Sharapova has not just taken her own brand to great heights but also helps other brands flourish as well. She recently invested in the tech wellness brand ‘Therabody,’ and this will help the company create new products and deepen its global range.

Maria Sharapova reveals what makes her happy

Maria Sharapova also revealed what really makes her happy. She emphasized that she becomes really cheerful when she sees new brands performing well financially. According to her, it is these small changes that please her.

“To see them (brands) do well, whether that’s financially, whether that’s brand recognition, whether it’s just about giving your friends a product and them trying it and saying ‘wow this is impacting my life positively.’ All these small changes are the small victories that make me happy,” added the 5-time Grand Slam winner.

Maria Sharapova is surely doing a fantastic job in the second innings of her life. She is a successful entrepreneur today and is helping new businesses to grow. However, fans still believe that she is fit enough to make a comeback on the court once again. Will Sharapova ever return to the court again?
