The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star Danny Ramirez has revealed there was a joke about BTS made on the Disney Plus show that was cut – and we’re pretty gutted we never got to see it.

The series features a lot of improv between actors, which in turn led to Dan, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and the rest of the cast having a lot of fun coming up with ideas on the fly.

Danny said there was ‘a really funny moment’ that came when he referenced the South Korean group in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s fifth episode, but said that it could have been cut for ‘licensing’ reasons.

The 28-year-old actor, who plays Joaquin Torres on the show, told Collider: ‘It’s this little ad-lib about how I wish we were all more like the boy band BTS.

‘Because I was like, “I thought we could be more like [rapper and BTS member] RM.” And so it was a fun little thing and there was a little dance that went with it.’

The ad-lib came during the scene in episode five where Sam Wilson tells Joaquin to keep his wings and takes the shield instead. While the joke was a ‘cool’ moment, it didn’t quite work with the nature of the sequence.

“It still got to be a moment between me and Sam, which was the most important,” he said.

As it turns out, there could have been a K-pop and Marvel crossover in the Disney Plus series – who knew?

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set six months after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

It follows Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, and James Buchanan’ Bucky’ Barnes team up to face a new threat in the form of the anti-patriotism group The Flag-Smashers, with villain Helmut Zemo also lurking in the shadows.

Joaquin wasn’t the only one who enjoyed being on set either, with Daniel Brühl recently saying that he and lead actor Anthony ‘acted like teenagers’ on set over Zemo’s coat.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is available to watch on Disney Plus.
