Who Should the Green Bay Packers Draft To Provide Support to Aaron Rodgers in Super Bowl hunt?

The Green Bay Packers have gone awfully close to making the Super Bowl two seasons in a row. Led by 2020 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, the franchise reached the NFC title game only to lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This was the franchise’s second consecutive conference championship game loss. With Rodgers undergoing a renaissance the Packers were favorites to make it to the Super Bowl last season. 

They enter 2021 as one of the favorites yet again. But time and again in the past, the franchise has been criticized for not providing Aaron Rodgers the tools he needs to make the final push for the biggest game of the season. 

Come the 2021 NFL Draft, the Packers have a chance to undo their wrongs. With the 29th pick in the 2021 draft, the Packers will have the chance to address one of two areas that needs work. 

Either provide Rodgers with a highly-rated rookie target to aim at or enforcement for to the O-line.  

All roads to Super Bowl lead to keeping Aaron Rodgers happy  

Aaron Rodgers is unsettled. The quarterback has said many times that his future is uncertain. The franchise too has not done much to dispel that belief. 

Drafting QB Jordan Love with the first-round pick in 2020, many felt the Packers missed out on providing the ideal air support. In the upcoming season, some issues remain, while new ones have cropped us as well.

Star left tackle David Bakhtiari is expected to miss a considerable amount of next season due to an ACL injury he suffered in December last year. With right tackle Billy Turner expected to slot in for him, the franchise needs a rookie capable enough to take his spot.

Terrence Marshall Jr (Wide Receiver) – Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 200 pounds, LSU wide receiver Terrence Marshall is someone the Packers could look to draft. Thanks to his size, Marshall has a wide catch radius and would slot in perfectly alongside star wideout Davante Adams as WR2.

The only doubt about his game is his frequent drops. The player dropped 12.8 per cent of his passes in 2019. Opting to sit out the 2020 season, Marshall could still end up being a valuable addition to the side.

Samuel Cosmi (Offensive Tackle) – With Bakhtiari out for some time and the future of Turner’s time with the franchise uncertain, the Packers need a new offensive tackle to provide the protection Aaron Rodgers needs.

Someone as versatile as Texans Longhorns’ Samuel Cosmi might come in handy. The offensive tackle can play on either side and is one the most experienced O-linesman in the 2021 draft class.
