CS:GO Legend dev1ce Leaves Astralis for Ninjas in Pyjamas
Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, winner of 18 MVP titles, and numerous other accolades with Astralis, has finally left the team. Swedish esports Ninja in Pyjamas has signed the star in a three-year contract. This marks the end of one of the finest and the most successful CS:GO team to ever exist.
For five years Astralis dominated most of the competitions they took part in. Nicolai lead the team to four Major titles, an achievement few can boast off. Nicolai was also the founding member of the Astralis team. He along with former Team SoloMid teammates Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, lead Astralis to a CS:GO dominance that the Esports community had never witnessed before.
This transfer is also reportedly going to be one of the biggest that the CS:GO community has seen in recent years. Nicolai will sport the NIP jersey for the first time in the upcoming Flashpoint 3 RMR tournament.
Ninja in Pyjamas announced the star signing on its Twitter with cinematic flashbacks and commentaries from tournaments where the legend shined.

Official statement from dev1ce on exiting Astralis’ CS:GO team
Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz provided an official statement to HLTV on the transfer.
“Leaving Astralis is tough, to say the least. The boys will always be like family to me, but this covid era has left me thinking a lot; where do I see myself when it all goes back to normal? I’ve lived in Sweden for some time now, speaking the language and I’m really hyped about this young and exciting NIP project. To join one of the most successful organizations, where so many legends have played, inspires me. Just see what LeBron James achieved with the Lakers for instance, and with the Major in Stockholm coming up; to bring that home to Sweden is my number one goal.”
NIP Chief Gaming Officer Jonas Gundersen also spelled out what it meant for NiP to welcome dev1ce.
“Bringing in device is a huge testament to the work everyone around the club have been doing for the past years. We set out on a venture to rekindle the magic that NIP stands for and in this day and age. That means transforming into a modern esports performance unit that can define new standards.”
