Deborah Meaden had an awkward moment on This Morning as a Dragons’ Den product she had backed appeared to break live on air.

The businesswoman, 62, had joined Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond to discuss the coronavirus pandemic, but eagle-eyed viewers spotted she was wearing a necklace and glasses chain she had backed on Dragons’ Den the night before.

The CotiVision chunky chain and reading glasses combo had been featured on Thursday’s Dragons’ Den as best friends Julie Hawkins and Nancy Gries vied for backing.

The brand creates interchangeable chains and reading glasses combinations which the buyer can mix and match to always have their spectacles at hand when needed.

Dermot also spotted the chunky necklace, telling her: ‘Deborah, before we leave you, am I noticing a bit of product placement there? You’ve got the old Dragons’ Den investment from last night.’

Laughing about him pointing it out, Deborah grabbed the necklace in her hands – only for it to promptly fall off her neck.

Alison exclaimed: ‘Oh it’s broke! It’s broken – load of rubbish! I’m only joking!’

It appeared that rather than being broken, the necklace had just come apart at the joins as Deborah made an effort to put it back on.

She joked: ‘Thank you for asking, Dermot!’, as she slung the chain back around her neck.

Viewers had also spotted that she was wearing the product she backed, tweeting: ‘I see you @DeborahMeaden wearing the glasses on a necklace from last nights #dragonsden.’

Others added: ‘@DeborahMeaden good morning i see you are, wearing your glasses holding jewellery nice touch hope the business going well very subtle advertising’ and ‘Notice Debra wearing the new necklace/eyeglass thing she invested in on Dragons Den.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
