PlayStation and Firewalk Studios’ AAA Team Announce New Multiplayer Game

Over the years, PlayStation has made a name for itself by releasing a plethora of exclusive titles. Unlike the Xbox Series X/S, the PS5 offered brilliant exclusive games like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls at launch.

Following a similar approach, PlayStation and Firewalk Studios have announced a publishing partnership for an upcoming multiplayer game. The latter is a next-generation AAA studio and is a part of the ProbablyMonsters family. The developing team claims to be full of passionate gamers, who look forward to creating a sustainable development culture and developing splendid games.

What to expect from the upcoming multiplayer game by PlayStation and Firewalk Studios?

As for now, the developers have released no valuable information regarding this upcoming multiplayer game. Based on their recent blog, it is safe to assume that it will exclusively release for the new-gen PS5.

Firewalk Studios’ goal is to develop new worlds that contain some of the best gaming moments for the players. To do so, it sees PlayStation as the perfect companion. This is primarily because Sony has the best expertise and capabilities in the world to make such dreams come true.

The game has already passed certain important stages of development. In fact, the developers themselves have been playing it consistently and love it. As per Tony Hsu, the Studio Head at Firewalk, the daily online playtests were a major source of entertainment of the team in 2020 when the world was hit with the Coronavirus pandemic.

Even though the announcement is just about the ongoing project, it was enough to generate curiosity among fans. As for now, some are assuming that this upcoming title will be a MMORPG shooter, while others think it can very well be a Battle Royale title.

PS5 will have more exclusives than the PS4

In recent interviews, Jim Ryan has already revealed Sony’s strategy to make the PS5 its most successful console ever. The company will do so by working with studios like Insomniac Games and creating exclusive games for the PlayStation 5 patrons.

From the looks of it, the aforementioned multiplayer game will also be an integral part of this list. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the next-generation exclusive games for the PS5 will range across several genres like multiplayer, role-playing, survival, arcade, and horror, among others.
