Zoe Sterling lives in the house where the surveillance operation is taking place with her 10 year-old daughter, Caitlin, who is a pupil at the school where Gemma works.

Zoe is a secret voyeur and her flat overlooks Gemma’s house, which she shares with her boyfriend and main suspect, Greg.

Roach starred as Margaret Thatcher in the Oscar-winning film The Iron Lady, and has also featured in hit BBC drama Killing Eve.

Fehinti Balogun as Greg Sullivan

Fehinti Balogun plays Gemma’s partner Greg Sullivan, who is turned against by the community because of suspicion that he was involved in her disappearance.

Catherine Tyldesley stars as Kate Tuckman[/caption]

Catherine Tyldesley as Kate Tuckman

Kate is a social media influencer whose vibrancy places her at the heart of the community. She lives on the same street as Zoe and her daughter is also taught by missing teacher Gemma.

She is obsessed with her husband Carl and her life’s sole objective is to keep hold of her man, and is jealous whenever he goes near another woman.

Tyldesley is well-known for playing Eva Price in Coronation Street.

Dominic Allburn as Carl Tuckman

Kate’s husband – but with a tendency to play away from home.

Carl moved to the UK as a builder from Poland but joined the family business owned by Kate’s father Bill.

Australian actor Allburn has also featured in The Model and Jack Irish: Dead Point.

Shannon Murray as DC Hayley Jones

DC Hayley Jones is Martin’s former partner from the time he spent in CID.

Very much a good cop, DC Jones is bound to a wheelchair after sustaining a spinal injury in the line of duty, which Martin blames on himself.

Murray, who herself uses a wheelchair after a diving accident when she was 14, has also starred in EastEnders and Silent Witness.

Aside from her time on screen, the Irish actress is also a disability activist and lawyer.

Sarah Niles as DCI Jill Conroy

DCI Jill Conroy is the senior investigating officer in the disappearance of Gemma Hillman.

She doesn’t always agree with Martin and at times they clash whilst working on the case. However, Jill still has a soft spot for Martin because of their shared history of working in the same unit.

Niles featured alongside Fehinti Balogun in I May Destroy You.

Phil Davis as DI Liam Fox

Phil Davis plays the role of DI Liam Fox, who is the top dog in Manchester’s specialist surveillance unit and acts as a father to Martin.

Davis has previously lined up in the BBC historical series Poldark, as well as portraying a serial killer in Sherlock.
