Brian May relieved as TikTok account is restored after Queen star ‘broke’ platform
Brian May has returned to TikTok just a few hours after his account seemingly got ‘banned’ – and he couldn’t be happier.
The Queen star had signed up to the popular social media outlet and fans had been loving his content, although that didn’t stop his profile from being removed for ‘violating multiple Community Guidelines’.
However, his account seems to have been reinstated since then, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
Brian, 73, took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, as he posted a screenshot of his TokTok page, as well as the first video that he shared on the app.
‘Well, I seem to be back!’ he wrote. ‘Thanks IG [Instagram] pals for kicking up a stink! I guess I broke Tik Tok!! And you guys got it fixed for me!
‘So, just so you know what the fuss was all about… this is my one and only post! Will there be more? I’m still wondering!!! Bri. (sic)’
Fans were absolutely delighted to see the guitarist back in action on the platform, with one commenting: ‘YAS BRIAN.’
Another added: ‘THANK GOD I WAS SO SAD.’
While one supporter said: ‘Wonderful!! And yes please, TikTok needs more people like you.’
A spokesperson for TikTok had told Metro.co.uk that Brian’s account ‘is back up now and we’re in touch with Brian and his team.’
Brian had previously expressed his dismay at the fact that his profile seemed to be banned, as he explained: ‘Whaaaaaa? I guess my career on Tik Tok is over!!!
‘Is this a joke? What did I do! From 0 to 2 million views in 48 hours and then back to zero!!! Can somebody explain this to me? Was my post too dangerous for TikTok?!!! Do I get to appeal? Bri.’
And when he’s not busy making TikTok videos, Brian is also working hard on new music with his Queen bandmates.
The band have been ‘trying things out’ in a bid to lay down some new tracks but haven’t written anything new that excites them just yet.
Brian assured fans they are still enjoying working together but they are giving themselves time to come up with the right material.
When asked about a reunion, Contact Music quotes him telling Guitar Player magazine: ‘I always say, “I don’t know”. It would have to be a very spontaneous moment.
‘Actually, Adam, Roger and myself have been in the studio trying things out, just because things came up.
‘But up to this point we haven’t felt that anything we’ve done has hit the button in the right way.
‘So it’s not like we’re closed to the idea, it’s just that it hasn’t happened yet.’
Well, we look forward to it either way.
