It’s no surprise to find out that ‘Gamebred’ was a professional boxer as he is a good striker in his MMA career. He started his combat sports career as a professional boxer.

‘Gamebred’ only had one professional boxing match. He fought against a professional boxer named Joseph Benjamin. This four-round boxing match took place at Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel, Miami, Florida, USA, on June 28, 2005.

Masvidal dominated his opponent throughout and won this boxing match via a majority decision to go 1-0 in the squared circle.

Absolute Fighting Championships

Masvidal started his professional MMA career in the MMA promotion named Absolute Fighting Championships. He had a total no. of 9 fights in the AFC and put together an 8-1 record. He claimed 4 finishes and 4 decisions. Masvidal only lost one out of his nine fights in AFC via submission (rear-naked choke) against Paul Rodriguez at AFC 13.

Gamebred‘ clashed against Nuri Shakir at AFC 17 for the vacant AFC welterweight championship title. Masvidal’s UFC Career, record, and accomplishments

‘Gamebred’ has accomplished a lot in his 19 UFC fights and has a 12-7 record. The BMF has registered seven finishes (6T/KO, 1 submission). All of his seven losses in the UFC have come via decision.

‘Gamebred’ had his first fight in the UFC against Tim Means at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Melendez. He won that fight via a unanimous decision. His most recent fight in the UFC was against Kamaru Usman at UFC 251.

The fastest Knockout in the UFC, the BMF Champion, and the UFC Bonuses

‘Gamebred’ holds the record for the fastest knockout in the history of UFC. It took him only five seconds to finish Ben Askren at UFC 239. In his fight against Askren, as soon as the bell rang, Masvidal landed a vicious flying knee and ended proceedings. ‘Gamebred’ was awarded the ‘UFC Honors 2019 Knockout of the Year’ for this spectacular victory.

When Masvidal fought against Nate Diaz, the UFC President Dana White introduced a new belt called the BMF (Baddest Mother F**k**r) for that fight. Masvidal and Diaz clashed against each other at UFC 244 for the newly introduced BMF championship title. ‘Gamebred’ won that fight via TKO (doctor’s stoppage) in the third round and became the BMF champion.

‘Gamebred’ has also received the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus twice for his fights against Rustam Khabilov and Darren Till. He has also received the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus four times for his brilliant performances against Cezar Ferreira, Donald Cerrone, Darren Till, and Ben Askren.
