Rob Gronkowski Sets Guinness World Record With the Help of a Helicopter

Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Super Bowl LV title in epic fashion earlier this year. The veteran NFL quarterback threw for 201 yards with 3 passing TDs in the final as the Bucs defeated Kansas City Chiefs by a comprehensive 31-9 scoreline. Apart from Brady and Tampa Bay’s defense, another player who grabbed eyeballs during the win was TE Rob Gronkowski.

The former New England Patriots man connected with Tom Brady to hand the home team a lead. In fact, Gronkowski was a pivotal component of the Bucs offense en route to the final.

Since returning from retirement, ‘The Gronk’ has 700+ receiving yards and 9 receiving TDs to his name (including playoffs). He will be key for the Buccaneers when the season starts in September. But in the meantime, he has something else to be excited about.

Rob Gronkowski etches his name in Guinness Book of World Records

Prior to his arrival in the NFL back in 2010 as the 42nd overall pick by the Patriots, Rob Gronkowski was ‘balling’ while at the University of Arizona. The promising tight end played under head coach Mike Stoops between 2007-09. He had 1,197 receiving yards and 16 receiving TDs during his time in Arizona.

But earlier this week, Gronkowski returned to his Alma Mater and made headlines once again. The Super Bowl LV champions caught a football thrown from a helicopter 600 feet above the ground. In doing so, he is now the holder of the a Guinness World Record.

The previous world record was 563 feet and was held by YouTube personality Tyler Toney. Almost immediately after making the catch, Rob was mobbed by Arizona players who were just glad to have the NFL superstar attend their 2021 spring game.

Rob Gronkowski has a knack for pulling off some crazy stuff, not just on the football field, mind you. Here are some of the funniest moments from his short career in the WWE.

Love him, or hate him, you just can’t ignore him. Never change Mr. Gronkowski, never change. We look forward to seeing more his hilarious antics when the 2021 NFL season begins in September.
