Carlos Sainz Explains How Ferrari Can Beat McLaren in 2021 F1 Battle

Ferrari’s latest signing, Carlos Sainz believes that they can beat his former team, McLaren in 2021. The Spanish drive has not been able to find the pace of the car but thinks they beat the Woking-based outfit this season.

The Maranello-based team had a horrible season last year. The team came 6th in the constructor’s championship with just 131 points. However, with new blood in the form of Sainz, they think they push and even beat the orange team on the grid.

Ferrari currently sits in fourth place in the championship, with McLaren in third with 53 points. Only two races have been crossed off the 2021 F1 calendar so far, but the Italian team knows they can beat their rivals.

Carlos Sainz has faith he can beat his former team, McLaren

As quoted by Racer, Sainz stated, “I think it is very tight, honestly. It is very difficult to pick from. I think the McLaren has its strengths and its weaknesses, and us the same. What makes it a really nice fight is that we are quick in very different places on the track and it makes it a very fun battle.”

“Maybe they have a bit of an upper hand the last two races. As soon as we do a very good weekend and we go to a track that maybe favors us a little bit, we can be ahead,” Sainz concluded.

Sainz hopes to replicate the same bromance with Charles as he did with Norris

It is without a shadow of a doubt, the Sainz and Lando Norris friendship was one of the best we have seen in recent years. However, when it was announced that Sainz would leaving at the end of the season. Sainz would love to form the same bromance with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari.

As quoted by Autosport, Saiz said, “I would lie if I said I’ve not talked to Charles. Of course I have. Of course I am paying attention that what happens over there, and asking him questions now and then.”

“Until you get inside the team, it’s difficult to really understand and really tricky to know what is going on. My relationship with Charles actually is very good. I expect to get on well with him in the future.”

The next round of the championship takes us to Portugal. The Scuderia hopes that they can improve on their results and get a win or at least a podium.
