‘Go F**k Yourself Las Vegas Review-Journal!’- Dana White Lashes Out at Media for Criticizing UFC 261 Safety Protocols

Being the first to do something in any field always attracts its fair share of criticism. And is something Dana White and his team were subject to when they first wanted to get the fight going in the middle of a global pandemic. The coronavirus pandemic ground the world to a halt and meant the death of live events.

However, White and his team refused to back down and found a way to host events safely with stringent protocols in place. At first, the media heavily criticized the UFC. But it died down once it was evident that White and his team had a grip on things and no one was getting hurt in the process. Now that White and his team are the first to host a live event in front of a sold-out crowd, there is no surprise that the UFC is being criticized once again.

Dana White and the UFC lead the way yet again

White is not one to bite his tongue on any matter, the UFC head honcho is known for speaking his mind. The UFC president took to Instagram to bash the Las Vegas Review-Journal for their scathing attack on the UFC for hosting a live event with 15,000 fans amidst a pandemic.

Dana shared a snippet of the article and a caption that said, “Hey Las Vegas, this is our piece of shit local newspaper. Through this entire pandemic we didn’t lay off a single employee, we worked with governmental agencies in Nevada and around the world to put on every event safely, and we chose to bring our biggest fight of the year with Conor McGregor back to town July 10th to help relaunch the city. Yet, this is how the Las Vegas Review-Journal shows its support for a true local business. Go f**k yourself LVRJ, and don’t bother coming to the fight in July.”

UFC 261 marks the return of fans for the first time since March 2020. The UFC has hosted most of the fights since then at the UFC apex with no fans or with limited fans on Fight Island. White has always stated that only when he was allowed to sell out a full stadium would he have a live event.
