Ashley Cain’s baby girl Azaylia has died after a battle with leukaemia at eight-months-old.

The reality star confirmed the news in a post on social media just months after she was diagnosed with a ‘rare and aggressive’ form of the cancer.

Before Azaylia’s death, Ashley and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee launched a GoFundMe page to raise money to pay for medical treatment. At the time of writing, the page is still taking donations.

Last month, Ex On the Beach star Ashley, 30, shared a GoFundMe page on social media and raised more than £1million in 24 hours as he hoped to fly to Singapore to get special treatment for Azaylia.

Ashley and Safiyya’s GoFundMe is still open and they have pledged to give ‘any extra money to other children and their families in the same situation’.

A statement on the webpage promised ‘to give back to this community from the moment we were thrust into it and that is something we will always honour’.

Ashley is yet to specify to what charities or families the money will go.

Reality star Ashley said CAR-T therapy was ‘the only option to save Azaylia’s life’ and they would have to fly out to Singapore in a matter of weeks, with the treatment taking a minimum of a year.

A message on GoFundMe read: ‘Our beautiful daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain was just eight weeks old when we got the heartbreaking news that she had been diagnosed with AML Leukaemia.

‘On diagnosis Azaylia had a frighteningly high leukemia count plus tumours in her spleen, stomach, lungs and kidneys which put her in critical condition and resulted in her being put into intensive care.

‘The doctors warned us that there was a high probability that she wouldn’t survive past the first round of chemotherapy due to the aggressiveness and rareness of her disease combined with her age.’

It went on to explain that Azaylia surprised medics by pulling through two rounds of chemo with few side effects but it became clear this was not enough to beat the blood cancer.

Consultants told Ashley and Safiyya that Azaylia would need an urgent bone marrow transplant and they were thrilled to find a donor after raising awareness on social media.

Despite the transplant, it was found she still had traces of leukaemia, devastating news for the parents as they’d been told there was nothing more that could be done if it returned within a year.

Unfortunately the leukaemia rapidly multiplied and Azaylia went into full relapse, urgently returning to hospital.

Doctors in Singapore told them they were unable to go ahead with the CAR-T treatment as Azaylia’s cancer was too rare.

Ashley was determined to make the most of the time he had left with Azaylia, saying: ‘For the last part of her life I just want to take her home. See her like a baby and give her the best rest of her life ever.’

Safiyya added: ‘I am so proud of my baby girl she has been fighting for so, so long, and doesn’t deserve this to happen to her! There isn’t enough words out there to describe the heartache & pain I’m feeling but I’m incredibly honoured to have become a mummy to my precious girl.

‘I don’t have many words at this difficult time. But, for now, thank you for all your love & support for Azaylia and us as a family.’
