Ja’Marr Chase College Record: From High School Prodigy to LSU Superstar

Since the departure of Odell Beckham Jr, the Louisiana State University Tigers have been working hard to bring in quality wide receivers. In homegrown starlet, Ja’Marr Chase, LSU have arguably handed the NFL another top-level wideout ahead of the 2021 NFL season.

The 21-year old has been playing at a very high level since graduating to starter in 2019. But that wasn’t always the case. Chase was not getting enough playing time during his freshman year at LSU.

But his penchant for always improving and his passion for honing the game made him one of the top wide receivers in college football. Now, ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, Chase is being tipped for greatness.

Let’s take a look at the meteoric rise of Ja’Marr Chase – LSU Superstar and future NFL first-rounder.

Ja’Marr Chase – The latest LSU recruit tipped for bright future in the NFL

As a teenager, Ja’Marr Chase attended Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana. This particular educational establishment was located in the suburbs of New Orleans. During his time with the Raiders, Chase registered 2,152 receiving yards and 30 receiving touchdowns,

No wonder, he was being pursued by top Division I programs. The 5-star high school recruit had offers from Kansas, TCU, University of Florida, and Auburn. He committed to Kansas first, but backed out and pledged allegiance to TCU. Chase later went back on that as well and decided to join the Florida Gators program.

However, after the sacking of coach Jim McElwain, even that deal collapsed. He eventually had to choose between Auburn and LSU. The youngster opted for the latter, and the rest is history.

“I felt rushed at certain points. The Kansas commitment, I felt rushed. I probably got too excited on my visit. And the Florida deal, I felt comfortable there but once the coaching staff left I made the decision to decommit,” Chase said via NOLA.com.

Is Chase one of LSU’s best receivers despite 2020 disappointment?
