“Never Thought I Would Love Being a Mom”: Serena Williams Opens Up About Her Journey as Mother

Serena Williams has begun her training on clay at the Mouratoglou Academy in Nice, France. After this, she’ll be heading to Rome for the Masters 1000 tournament before leaving for Paris. The tennis queen last won a French Open title in 2015 and will not like to miss the opportunity this year after enjoying some incredible form so far.

Apart from being a fabulous tennis player, Serena Williams is also a mother to a 3-year-old. In a recent interview, she talked about her journey so far as a mother. She revealed that she enjoyed every single moment of her motherhood with her daughter Olympia.

“My journey as a mother has been so fun,” began Serena. “You know, it’s just, it’s really just incredible being a mom. I love every moment of it. My daughter is so fun. She’s just a joy to be around really and she’s like- you are my friend and I’m like yes but I’m your mom.”

Williams extensively described the relationship she has with her daughter. She mentioned that her daughter considers her as a friend and she too likes to have fun with her.

“It’s really cool. I never thought that I would love being a mom so much. You know, and here I am just loving every single moment of it and it is just so cool,” added the 23-time Grand Slam winner.

The former World No.1 is surely spending some quality time with her daughter. However, she hasn’t won a single Grand Slam title after Olympia’s birth and will like to turn the tables around at the French Open 2021.

Serena Williams is 39 already and it’ll be tough for her to compete with the players who are almost half of her age. However, she proved that she still has a lot of tennis left in her at the Australian Open 2021. Will Serena be able to win her 24th Grand Slam title at the French Open this year?
