Rumors Suggest Metal Gear Solid Remake in the Works

Metal Gear Solid has been one of the most iconic franchises from the house of Konami. The 1998 title spelled the inception of a series of steal RPG titles and built a dedicated fan base to the same, almost instantly. It became one of the most successful franchises from Japan in the ’90s and has delivered one hit after the other to the fans. Players take up the role of Solid Snake, who is a soldier ordered to infiltrate the nuclear weapons facility in order to neutralize a terrorist threat from the renegade special forces unit.

Lately, there have been rumors going around the community about an upcoming Metal Gear Solid remake. This news has excited the fans to a huge extent. Although, there has not been any official statement from either Konami or Hideo Kojima. However, there seems to be a ray of hope still. According to David Hayter, the voice behind the iconic protagonist Solid Snake, there indeed seems to be a Metal Gear Solid remake in the works, for the new-gen consoles out there.

According to the voice of Solid Snake, a Metal Gear Solid remake might actually be in the works

The voice actor spoke about this during a lengthy discussion with Dan Allen, famous for his popular YT channel Dan Allen Gaming. Apparently, the actor himself thought of these as nothing more than rumors initially. Hayter says:

“I thought it was just a rumor until the day before yesterday when I got a text from one of the insiders, saying they heard it might really be happening… I only had some confirmation that it might not be a rumor a couple of days ago, and even that was still a rumor… but now it’s an industry rumor, so that tends to be a little more accurate.”

However, Hayter adds that the studio will need to re-record his voices for the game. This is because the audio cards of the erstwhile PlayStation consoles are quite poor in quality. In comparison, the current-gen consoles feature stronger hardware that devs can fully utilize.

Well, although this is not much in the name of solid proof, it is better in terms of credibility. In any case, this has naturally excited fans further. Remaking classic titles seems like an idea more devs should get on.
