WOW! Nick Diaz Hints at a UFC Comeback in a Cryptic Social Media Post

Former UFC welterweight staple Nick Diaz took to social media and teased fight fans with a possible comeback post. Diaz hasn’t competed since January 2015, where his fight against Anderson Silva was turned into a No Contest. While there have been rumblings of a return, Nick Diaz and his legions of fans have begun seriously playing into this narrative lately.

The end of 2020 saw the talks of Nick Diaz making a return reach an all-time high. However, since then things have fizzled out only to be picked up back again with a cryptic tweet. Stockton’s favorite son knows how to galvanize the MMA world and get them talking about his future in the sport.

Furthermore, certain images of Diaz have been making the rounds that catch him in seemingly impeccable shape. It seems as though despite being 37-year-old and walking away from the sport, Diaz hasn’t lost a step. Former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier came out and commented on Nick Diaz’s ripped physique ahead of a possible comeback.

Chiefly, Cormier saw Nick Diaz as he arrived in Jacksonville, Florida to witness the UFC’s return to action with UFC 261. Moreover, Diaz met up with Dana White and presumably exchanged a word or two.

Nick Diaz: All-time great

Fans of the sport that came in through the ‘Conor McGregor boom’ may only know Nick Diaz through word of mouth. His UFC run let plenty to be desired and on paper, he left the sport 0-2-1. However, both his losses came in title fights, interim and undisputed, and to the like of Carlos Condit and Georges St-Pierre no less.

What’s more, he was a staple of the UFC right from UFC 44 to UFC 59 before taking his talents outside the promotion. Following his initial departure from the UFC, he would go on to have classic bouts against KJ Noons and Paul Daley. In fact, the first round of his scrap against Daley is looked at as the single-best round in MMA, period.

With a legacy fixed in Strikeforce and the UFC, Nick Diaz remains much more than just a fabled name on paper. He reached star status far before his brother and remains a sort of mythical figure in the sport of MMA. Fans will be hoping that he’s genuinely considering a comeback after clearly flirting with the possibility.
