Zurich Classic 2021 Top Picks – Favorite Teams to Win at TPC Louisiana

The Zurich Classic 2021 has witnessed three days of action and the tournament is headed towards an exciting finish. Only 18 holes remain at TPC Louisiana and there are several teams in contention for the title. Fans are eager to witness which duo will emerge as the winner this year!

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the only team event on the PGA Tour calendar so there’s always plenty of excitement around the tournament. The tournament awards a massive $7.4 million prize purse and the winners will take a huge chunk of $2,138,600 from it.

Who are the favorites to win the Zurich Classic 2021?

There are multiple teams fighting for the crown at Zurich Classic 2021. This denotes how competitive the tournament can get. Ahead of the final round, there are 16 teams within four strokes away from the leaders!

Things can go haywire in the final round. As for now, South African pair Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel are leading the tournament with a score of 19-under and they’re the favorite pair to win at TPC Louisiana this year.

However, the task won’t be easy for Oosthuizen and Schwartzel. They’re closely followed by Aussie duo Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith and the team is expected to rise up to the challenge and take a shot at the title on Sunday. Leishman and Smith currently sit second with 18-under, just one stroke behind the leaders.

Moreover, the dynamic pairing of Cameron Champ and Tony Finau is in the mix as well. They’re known as ‘Team Send It’ at the Zurich Classic, and the duo is also tied for second place. Champ and Finau are also heavy favorites to win this year.

Experience plays a huge part at TPC Louisiana. That’s why Bubba Watson and Scottie Scheffler are tied for fourth place at 17-under for the tournament. This pairing did not receive much hype during the event’s commencement, but Watson’s expertise has made him a favorite to once again reign supreme at Zurich Classic.

Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman are touted to run away with the title

Cameron Smith won the inaugural Zurich Classic team event in 2017. He knows what it takes to win the event, and is poised to repeat a similar performance in 2021. Smith and Leishman have been consistent so far and they need to hold their act together for 18 more holes to win the title.

The duo excelled in the four-ball format in Rounds 1 and 3 and shot 9-under 63 on both occasions. This massively helped them gain places on the leaderboard and they’re now just one stroke behind the leading team.

The Aussie pair has been a joy to watch at the Zurich Classic this year and the duo has been extending their good run of form on the PGA Tour. Can they improve their performance in the alternate shot format and make a run for the title on Sunday?
