Former WWE Superstar Makes a Shocking Debut for IMPACT Wrestling at Rebellion 2021

Impact Wrestling brought it’s Rebellion PPV from the Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. The show had a lot of hype, mainly for the World Title vs World Title match between Impact’s Rich Swann and AEW’s Kenny Omega. But amid all this, former WWE Superstar Big Cass aka W. Morrissey made his Impact Wrestling debut!

Yes, Big Cass made his Impact Wrestling debut today at Rebellion under the ring name, W. Morrissey which is an abbreviation of his real name, William Morrissey.

Eric Young’s faction, Violent By Design were scheduled to face the team of James Storm, Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, and Willie Mack in an eight-man tag team match at Rebellion 2021. However, the ‘World Class Maniac’ tore his ACL against James Storm a couple of weeks ago during the latter’s 1000th match in Impact Wrestling.

EY’s ACL tear meant he would miss action for at least 6 to 9 months. But his faction’s match against the eight mighty men from Impact was not cancelled. Instead, we saw EY talk to somebody in the backstage area about giving him the opportunity today to prove himself.

Violent By Design made their usual entrance after the faces were in the ring. Rhyno, Deaner, and Joe Doering entered the ring, while Eric Young stood on the stage. Young then pointed to the backstage area as the theme song and graphics on the titantron changed. The music kicked in and out came the all-new ‘W. Morrissey’ fka Big Cass in WWE.

W. Morrissey looked like a million bucks inside the ring. His presentation was done absolutely well, and he blended perfectly alongside the crazy men from Violent By Design. In fact, it was W. Morrissey who scored the pinfall victory for VBD after connecting the East River Crossing on Willie Mack.

W. Morrissey fka Big Cass wasn’t there just for the win though. He was there to make a statement. Despite getting the win, Morrissey continued throwing stiff right hands at Willie Mack. The referee tried to stop him, but got shoved instead. In the end, Morrissey stood tall in the ring and VBD stood on the stage right behind him, celebrating their win.

Does this mean W. Morrissey is here to stay at Impact Wrestling?

The 7 foot tall Giant from Queens, New York, picked a statement win for his team last night. There is no confirmation on whether he has signed with the promotion or not, but we feel he has. Why? Well, if he hadn’t signed with them, he could’ve easily gone with CaZXL, a ring name he has used on the indies.

Another aspect that makes us believe he has signed is him pinning Willie Mack. If this was a one-off appearance, then they wouldn’t have gone with Cass picking up with victory right? Cass returned to the ring in February this year at a LPW show that aired on IMPACT+.

Either way, we’ll keep you updated about W. Morrissey’s future in Impact Wrestling. In the meantime, you can let us know your thoughts about Impact Rebellion in the comments below!
