Jon Jones Mocks Dana White and UFC in a Deleted Tweet on Jake Paul Earning $5 Million

Jon Jones took to social media and sent out a snide comment that has caught the attention of UFC fans. In a now-deleted tweet, Jones congratulated Jake Paul for breaking the bank in his boxing effort against Jake Paul. ‘Bones’ lauded Paul for coming out with $5 million and fans saw this as a jab to Dana White and the UFC.

Jon Jones x UFC: The cold war rages on

Chiefly, Jones has been at war with the UFC brass over contract issues as he’s been unhappy about his pay. Jon Jones is primed to make his heavyweight debut against Francis Ngannou and believes he should get a bump-up in pay. However, UFC President Dana White has given some pushback to Jones’ demands leading to a stalemate.

As it stands, the fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou is nowhere near being booked. In fact, UFC President Dana White came out and revealed that Derrick Lewis was the man next in line to face Francis Ngannou. Moving past Jones could be a ploy to force his hand and put together the fight under White’s terms.

Going forth in full force

However, Jon Jones doesn’t seem like he’s willing to back down, and his recent tweet is an indication of that. Jones quickly deleted his congratulatory tweet that was perceived more as a slight to the organization than anything. It’s safe to say that things are as tense as they’re ever been between Jones and the UFC.

‘Bones’ hasn’t fought since UFC 247 that took place all the way back in February 2020. Despite completing his bulk-up to heavyweight in a comprehensive manner, Jones doesn’t have any fights on the cards. However, given that he’s packed on some serious mass for his move-up to heavyweight, it’s unlikely that he’ll move back down to 205-pounds.

Time will be the only indication that will point towards Jones’ future in the UFC and his path moving forward. He’s taken a clear stand against the largest MMA organization on the planet, and this usually doesn’t end well. However, from the standpoint of a fight promoter, it’s hard to deny that fans are pining for Ngannou vs Jones
