“You’ve just got to be so blessed.

“For those of you who have healthy children and for those of who whose families are fit and well and to just be grateful for every second with people because that’s just so heartbreaking to think about what’s actually happened and to just take it in. They just don’t deserve it.

She continued: “Like it is definitely something that has shook the world.

“I know so many people who have just been crying all day like people all over the world that haven’t even met Azaylia or Ashley or anyone’s family and they’re just like heart broken.

“It’s just so hard to make sense of it but it’s like the only thing you can take out of it is just the awareness that she raised, donations on just such a huge scale and the money that she raised that will presumably, inevitably get donated to other charities.

On Friday, April 23, Ashley and Safiyya said palliative care nurses warned their baby girl might not survive the weekend.

The couple welcomed Azaylia Diamond into the world in August 2020, but just two months after her birth, she was diagnosed with leukaemia.

The couple managed to raise over £1 million in less than 24 hours in a bid to get their daughter treated in Singapore.

But their world came crashing down when they were told that Azaylia’s disease was too rare to help.

Over the past few weeks they had been trying to make their daughter’s last moments as special as they could with their family and friends by her side.
