Oscars 2021: Harrison Ford stuns audience as he reads out brutal Blade Runner notes

Harrison Ford had audiences shocked at the 2021 Oscars, as he read out the famous memo containing absolutely brutal notes for 1982 blockbuster Blade Runner.

The Rick Deckard actor nonchalantly greeted the guests as he prepared to present the film editing award, and declared that he would be reading out some ‘editorial suggestions that were prepared after the screening of a movie I was in.’

‘Why is this voice over track so terrible, hopefully this is not being dubbed in. He sounds drugged, were they all on drugs when they did this?’ one of the notes read.

‘The synagogue music is awful on the street,’ another criticism read.

The 78-year-old went on to read: ‘This movie gets worse every screening,’ before revealing: ‘That movie was called Blade Runner.’

‘These notes can help us understand why the editing process can often get a little complicated,’ he added.

Fans were living for the unconventional moment, with one writing: ‘Harrison afford reading the studio notes for the original BLADE RUNNER is EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED.’

‘Love of my life, harrison ford, talking about blade runner,’ another added, while one more said: ‘Harrison Ford reading BLADE RUNNER audience screening notes in a somewhat dumbfounded manner is maybe one of the #Oscars best moments.’

Harrison starred alongside Sean Young, Rutger Hauer, Daryl Hannah, and Joanna Cassidy in the hit film.

The editing Oscar was won by Sound of Metal.

The 93rd Oscars, which were pushed back from their original January date, saw Chloe Zhao win best director in a historic moment.

Daniel Kaluuya won best supporting actor, giving a powerful dedication to Fred Hampton – before completely embarrassing his mum by talking about her and his dad having sex.

Meanwhile, H.E.R’s song Fight For You won for best original song.
