Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury is a One-Fight Deal, Says Eddie Hearn

After several confirmations and rumors, the possible heavyweight battle between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has come up with another update. Matchroom Kingpin Eddie Hearn has once again claimed it to be an official matchup, revealing some recent developments.

Hearn has reportedly connected with WBC champion Tyson Fury in Las Vegas and is optimistic about staging the fight this year, calling it to be the “biggest fight” in British boxing history. Further, the Brit promoter cited it as a one-fight deal in interaction with Sky Sports.

According to reports, Saudi Arabia will probably host the fight. However, there’s still no official confirmation. Meanwhile, several people like heavyweight boxer Dereck Chisora doesn’t see the clash happening this year. He has openly accused Hearn of lying to the fans.

But the Matchroom Chairman’s recent interaction with Tyson Fury can bring a lifeline to the matchup. While Hearn claims that Tyson Fury is ready, unified champion Anthony Joshua will seemingly have a similar approach.

“I bumped into Fury in Vegas and he reassured me that he’s all-in. There are lots of characters involved – some are not so involved but still have comments to make,” said Eddie Hearn.

He added, “I wanted to see Fury because you see interviews from various people and I had started to doubt that he actually wanted the fight. I felt that he did. When we met up, he made me feel that he really wants this fight. Let’s get this done, it’s the only fight that I want. He’s bang up for this fight and so is Joshua.”

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Preview

The heavyweight battle came up on board after Joshua’s sensational title defense against Kubrat Pulev with a knockout in December last year. He expressed his desire in fighting Tyson Fury and the WBC champion accepted the challenge.

But the matchup has seen several dramas happen and with no official fight date aligned, there’s fear of seeing it fall off. Nevertheless, Eddie Hearn has constantly urged to stage the fight this year. Hence, there’s still some valid hope.

As we expect it to meet an official confirmation, the boxing world can gear up for the biggest title fight of the era. Tyson Fury’s WBC belt and Anthony Joshua’s WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO titles will go on the line. Apart from that, it will also define both men’s legacy to an extent, putting an intriguing contest to the display.
