Judi Love has returned to Loose Women following the death of her father, with the presenter vowing to continue her parents’ legacy.
Her fellow stars Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Coleen Nolan welcomed her back to the show following her break.
Speaking about how she’s feeling, the 40-year-old: ‘It’s still very sensitive, very raw, a feeling of shock really.’
She explained that she had taken a social media break anyway to spend more time with her children.
‘Having time off and that happening, it just reminds us how precious time is and it’s just made me have so much compassion for those who have lost loved ones over this year,’ she said.
‘For me, I’m at a place where I just take each day as it comes.’
Judi continued: ‘I had these two parents who were migrants, came from Jamaica, and I have a world of opportunities, I meet amazing people like yourself, and I just want to continue that legacy.’
The presenter shared the sad news on her Instagram last week, with a throwback photo of her posing happily next to her father.
She wrote in the caption: ‘I feel empty and heartbroken for many reasons 💔🙏🏾 RIP Dad 😢.
‘These last few weeks I tried to make you comfortable, I tried to get to you dad, I really did. Rest Well 🕊.’
Judi received messages of support from her celebrity pals passing on their condolences, including This Morning host Ruth who said: ‘So sorry Judi…condolences to you and your family. Sending you the biggest hug ❤️.’
Rapper Tinie Tempah commented: ‘Condolences 💔.’
Comedian Dane Baptiste added: ‘Love and light to him. My condolences. Dad is at peace now Judi and we are here for you xx.’
Nicola McClean said: ‘Sorry to hear that ❤️,’ while Scarlett Moffatt left a heart emoji.
Judi has previously opened up about the death of her mother in 2009 following a battle with dementia.
The TV star recalled tearfully in February 2020: ‘The spirit of the person is gone and you’ve got the shell. As a carer, I can’t even explain the emotional [impact]. It’s so draining.
‘I remember one time I was with my mum, she just didn’t know who I was. I went to my friends house, and I went to the kitchen and I just screamed and cried and cried.
‘I can’t explain seeing someone you’ve grown with or you’ve loved and they’re gone, they’re absolutely gone.’
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
