Stacey Solomon says new £1.2m Essex pad ‘doesn’t feel like ours’ and she’s got ‘so much to do’
SINCE her rise to fame on X-Factor back in 2009 she’s gone from strength to strength and become a household name.
From winning I’m a Celebrity in 2010 to becoming a Loose Women regular and most recently releasing her first book this year, is there nothing Stacey Solomon cannot do?

Well, she’s now the latest celebrity to have her own range for fashion label In The Style, following in the footsteps of Billie Faiers, Emily Atack and Charlotte Crosby.
The 39- piece collection features a range of pretty dresses, comfy jumpers and tennis skirts, coming in an impressive size range 4-28.
Stacey says: “I specified when I started this collection that it had to have all the sizes, my sister is a size four, slim and tall and can never get anything and I’ve got friends who are plus size who are in the same position.
“I didn’t want anyone to feel left out in this range.”

Stacey reveals she had full control over the designs in her collection[/caption]
After being approached by the brand 18 months ago, Stacey said she was really nervous but excited at the prospect of getting to create another women’s fashion range after her successful Primark collaborations.
She says: “I realised that they were going to let me take control and be a big part of it, they’re such a nice company, they really care about their brand.
“I got full control over the patterns, prints, textures, nothing was set, I could do what I want.”
The mother-of-three is aware however of the impact the fashion industry has on the environment and wanted to make sure that was thought of in her collection.
She says: “I wanted some sort of initiative to recycle clothes, I have so many of them and I give away a lot but I wanted to make it so it’s not just another item of clothing you buy, wear once and never again.”
In order to be more sustainable any off cuts from the fabric used were made into scarves and hair accessories so not to waste any material, plus all the labelling is recyclable.

Going forward for her next In The Style drop after this launch they’re teaming up with reGAIN – an app that gives you discounts to your favourite brands in exchange for your unwanted clothes.
Stacey is a big advocate of the high street, after having two womenswear lines and a kidswear range with Primark she’s no stranger to a bargain.
She says: “The reality is that most people, including myself, don’t buy designer, so I feel like fashion should be accessible and affordable.
“I have a pair of designer shoes, but I’d never spend thousands of pounds on clothes because they’d just get ruined, it’s not practical for me.”
As well as her fashion ventures Stacey has been a regular panelist on Loose Women since 2019.
She says: “When I first started I used to dress myself, but the show has two stylists who dress the four presenters.

When it came to her designs, she turned to social media to ask fans for their opinions[/caption]
A big fan of social media, she says it’s like having a load of mates to talk to online[/caption]
“They go out and find us really lovely stuff to wear that all go together, I remember when I used to bring my own clothes they’d be like ‘oh no’ it’s yellow and someone else is wearing yellow, so it’s easier for me and easier for them.”
Stacey has a big following on social media having amassed 4.4 million followers and often goes to them to ask for their opinions.
She says: “I went on my stories and did some polls to see which prints my followers might like.
“I try not to think too much into social media, sometimes it’s great and everyone wants to watch you and sometimes it’s not so great.
I’d love to dress Joe, sometimes I put the odd jumper out… I do try to cheat him into matching

“I just post whatever I’m doing at the time and try to enjoy it, I must say I’m really lucky everyone is always so kind.
“I don’t feel like I’m any different to anyone I talk to on social media either, I just feel like I’ve got a load of mates.”
Family life for Stacey is with her three children Zachary, Leighton and Rex as well as fiance Joe Swash.
Whilst she may be outnumbered in a house full of boys it seems Stacey still would love to dress them matching if she could.
Stacey snapped up her dream home for £1.2million in March[/caption]
She says: “My eldest (Zachary) will let me dress him until he’s twenty, he’s just like ‘whatever’, my middle (Leighton) gets himself dressed and refuses to wear anything I ask him to, Rex just tells me what shoes he wants to wear.”
And with Joe – she says: “I’d love to dress him…
“Sometimes I put the odd jumper out and then he puts it on, comes downstairs and we’re all in the same jumper and he’s like ‘I knew that’s why you put that out’ so I do try to cheat him into matching.”
Stacey joked she cheats Joe into wearing matching clothes with the kids[/caption]

Joe and Stacey are due to tie the knot in July after getting engaged on Christmas Eve[/caption]
Having recently moved to a £1.2 million home in Essex, Stacey is ready to renovate.
She says: “It’s a real project, we’ve got so much to do.
“It’s so old so it’s nice to try bring things back that I can and then try and transform things that I can’t – we just feel so lucky to just be there, it doesn’t really feel like our house.”

And that’s not the only exciting thing for Stacey this year, her and Joe are meant to by tying the knot in July.
She says: “I was so organised and now I feel like I’ve done nothing, I keep forgetting to ring the Rabbi, I’ve got to sort the catering, I’ve got so much to do.
“I haven’t got my dress, I’ve been having online consultations, I haven’t been fitted so that’s going to happen soon.
“We’re hoping because it’s after the 21st June that if it all goes to plan there shouldn’t be any restrictions, but if it’s just going to be our close family then that’s fine.”
