Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford has announced that he has ended his boycott of Line of Duty ahead of Sunday’s highly-anticipated series six finale.

In just a few days’ time, fans of the BBC crime drama will discover what will become of Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) in the final episode of the season.

Many viewers believe that the elusive bent copper ‘H’ – referred to by Hastings as ‘The Fourth Man’, will finally be unmasked – a belief that some think Phillip Schofield may have hinted at on This Morning.

Earlier this month, Alex, 40, shared with his Twitter followers that he was planning on avoiding Line of Duty series six so that he could watch it all in one go.

‘Trying to avoid all things line of duty so I can binge watch it all. This weekly thing I don’t have the patience for!’ he said.

However, it appears he’s broken his boycott earlier than some people may have thought he would, as he shared an update on what he’s watching on TV at the moment.

In a new tweet shared on Tuesday, the weather presenter wrote: ‘Just finished episode 1 of #LineofDuty6. Let the binging begin,’ alongside a smiley face emoji.

So he didn’t wait until the finale of series six had come out to watch the entire series.

But let’s face it – who can blame him?

Ahead of the last instalment of the season, Line of Duty star Vicky teased that ‘nobody is safe’.

While speaking to press including Metro.co.uk, Martin explained that in his, Vicky’s and Adrian’s heads, they come as a ‘package’ despite Kate leaving AC-12.

‘We come as one package in our heads,’ he said, while discussing the prospect of the crew being ripped apart.

‘With Jed [Mercurio, show creator], he would never do it for the sake of doing it, it’d be to further the story.

‘But it would be really interesting in this series, or the next, if one of us goes. It’d be hard to think…’

In news pertaining to another – slightly more sparkly – BBC show, Alex recently hinted that he could be ‘brushing up’ on his dance skills ahead of a possible appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

‘Do I need to brush up on my 2 step and shuffle?’ he tweeted to his 254K followers.

Line of Duty returns on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
