BREAKING: TJ Dillashaw Withdraws From His UFC Comeback Fight on May 8th
The main event on May 8th between Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw to the dismay of fans will be pushed further back. The former Bantamweight champion announced on Instagram that he would not be able to compete on May 8th. He also stated that he is working on rescheduling the fight as soon as possible.
Losing the main event just a few weeks before it was set to take place is a huge blow for the promotion. However, thanks to the depth of talent available, recent reports suggest that the UFC has set a strawweight bout between Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez as the new main event to headline the May 8th card.

Can TJ Dillashaw bounce back after a long lay-off?
The former Bantamweight champion took to Instagram to share some unfortunate news with his fans. He stated, “I’m sad to say that I have to be pulled from my fight on May 8th due to a cut received from a head butt while drilling. Rescheduling the fight as soon as possible.”
The former Bantamweight champion has been out of competition for a little over two years. He last competed In January 2019 when he went down a weight class to challenge Henry Cejudo for the flyweight belt. However, shortly after the bout, he was suspended for two years for testing positive for a banned substance.
Dillashaw was on a four-fight win streak before succumbing to a loss against Cejudo. He will be aiming to get back into the win column but this will be easier said than done. The man standing across from him has looked phenomenal in his last two fights and has secured stunning stoppages in both fights. Cory Sandhagen has quickly established himself as one of the best and deadliest strikers in the division.
The fight between both men will be a chess match between two of the best strikers in the division. It will be interesting to see how much two years away from the sport has affected Dillashaw. Fans will be hoping that the fight is rescheduled as soon as possible.
