House Of The Dragon filming hit with delays after crew member rescued from rising tide

Filming on the Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon was hit with an unexpected delay when a crew member had to be rescued from the rising tide.

Hours after Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy were spotted shooting scenes for the HBO spin-off at a different location, a member of staff became trapped after accidentally driving a truck into the water.

A tractor was then brought onto the scene at St Michael’s Mount to help to hoist the vehicle back to safety, with crew racing to the incident to help.

According to reports, the staff member was driving to the causeway but got stuck in the water on his way up to the mount when the incident happened.

A team hurried to free the vehicle with just 30 minutes before the spot where it became ensnared was submerged by the rising tide.

It appeared all staff made it out of the incident unharmed.

Meanwhile, Matt and Emma shot scenes at a windy Holywell Bay Beach in Cornwall, which was previously speculated to be one of the filming locations.

Matt looked completely the part as he transformed into Prince Daemon Targaryen, wearing a long black jacket and knee-high boots and looked deep in conversation with Emma’s, Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Emma could be seen sporting the Targaryen’s signature platinum blonde locks, which had been styled into an intricate braid and a deep red gown for the series.

The House Of The Dragon Twitter account confirmed earlier this week that production is officially underway.

Pictures were shared of the cast sat down for a socially distanced read-through, while subsequent posts introduced the actor and the character they’ll be playing.

The series is set 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones and will follow the Targaryen family history, starting right at the formation of Westeros.

Game Of Thrones fans will have to sit tight for House Of The Dragon though as HBO revealed its being slated for release in 2022.
