‘Skip Colby Covington’- Henry Cejudo Asks Kamaru Usman to Take This One Advice

Kamaru Usman emphatically knocked out Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 to retain his position as the undisputed UFC welterweight champion. UFC President Dana White has confirmed multiple times already that a rematch against Colby Covington is next for the champion. But former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has some different advice for Usman.

‘Triple-C’ explained that it’s a scary thought for the rest of the division to see Usman being so efficient with the hands. He was already one of the best wrestlers in the UFC. Now, it seems like his knockout prowess is something his opponents should be wary of too.

‘The Messenger’ believes ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ should look to further build on his legacy and move up a weight division to challenge for the middleweight belt. “If I was in his position, I’ve told this before. But I know he loves Israel. But you know what, to me, this is all about the gold. This is all about the dream go there and challenge whomever has that belt,” said Cejudo.

“Because at the end of the day that you want to leave, you want to leave that legacy behind whether you’re my brother, my sister, my uncle, my cousin, maybe my mom, I may forgive you. But even then, I’m going to go out and I’m going to make history,” he added.

Henry Cejudo wants Kamaru Usman to skip Colby Covington

Of course, going for the middleweight belt will be a great option for Usman. However, given his relationship with the 185 lbs champion, Israel Adesanya, that move might not happen anytime soon. Cejudo has another potential opponent in mind for Usman and it’s not Covington or Leon Edwards, rather Nate Diaz.

“I would wait for Nate Diaz. I would actually say you actually skip that. I would actually say you skip Colby Covington and wait for the fight, and how is it that Nate is going to do against Leon Edwards. You’ve already beat Leon, we already know that. That’s not going to change. But Nate Diaz, if he’s going to beat him too, that’s a money fight,” Cejudo added.

It would be interesting to see who is next for ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’. But one can imagine that ‘Chaos‘ is most likely the next in line for Usman.
