The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 drops early in surprise treat from Hulu

The Handmaid’s Tale season four has been released earlier than planned, with three new episodes dropping last night in the US.

The Hulu series was meant to premiere today with the first episode, but bosses confirmed that the first three instalments are available to binge now.

A video shared on the show’s official social media page confirmed the news, with the cast – including Elisabeth Moss, Bradley Whitford and Joe Fiennes – speaking in unison.

‘I know you’ve been waiting patiently for season four. Well guess what, I have some good news,’ they all said.

‘The first three episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale are available right now.

‘That’s right. So thank you all for your love and support. You mean everything to us, and let us know what you think about the new season.’

Right on cue, fans went into meltdown over the announcement, flooding the comments with a mix of shock and cheer.

‘WHAT THE F**KKKK I LOVE YOU PEOPLE,’ one screamed.

‘Omg the first 3 episodes? You guys are doing the Lord work here [sic],’ another replied.

A follower said: ‘Stop!! They can’t drop bombs on me like this!’

As a Twitter user insisted: ‘I don’t think I’m ready!’

Honestly, hard same.

The first three episodes are titled ‘Pigs’, ‘Nightshade’ and ‘The Crossing’ – and are now available to stream on Hulu, while the rest of the 10-episode season will be released weekly.

A UK airdate has yet to be confirmed.

The series – based on the world written by Margaret Attwood in her classic novel of the same name – will follow June (Elisabeth) as she continues to rebel against the restrictions and measures of the Gilead government.

However, there may be twists in store for the heroine, as the official synopsis warns of ‘dangerous new challenges’.

‘The risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges, and her desire for justice and revenge threaten to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships,’ it read.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 launches today on Hulu, with a UK release date not yet confirmed.
