Aaron Rodgers to Leave Green Bay? Here’s What Packers’ GM Has to Say

The last couple of seasons have been like a roller coaster for Aaron Rodgers, both on the football field. After a lacklustre season in 2019 which ended in NFC Championship heartbreak (more on that later), Rodgers bounced back with a stellar season last year. The California-born led Green Bay Packers to the NFC North crown with a 13-3 record.

After throwing for 4,299 yards with 48 passing TDs, Aaron was adjudged NFL MVP of the season. He also led the Packers to the number 1 seed in the NFC. But once again, Matt LaFleur’s boys stumbled in the NFC Championship Game. This time, it was Tom Brady-led Tampa Buccaneers who did the damage.

Almost immediately, there were reports that Aaron is planning to move on from the Packers. His post-game comments after the championship loss sparked major chaos in Wisconsin.

But he gave an assurance later on saying that he plans to stick around in Green Bay, at least for another year.

Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Green Bay Packers in 2021?

Earlier today, NFL insider Adam Schefter was the first to report that despite giving his word, Aaron Rodgers is looking to move on from Green Bay probably before even the 2021 season begins.

But General manager Brian Gutekunst assured the Packers’ faithful that they are looking to sort out the differences as soon as possible.

“As we’ve stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond. Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team,” Gutekunst said via ESPN.
