Coronation Street’s Will Mellor says family tragedies left him under ‘cloud’ of dizzy spells and blurred vision

CORONATION Street’s Will Mellor says family tragedies have left him under a “cloud” of dizzy spells and blurred vision.

The actor, who joined the ITV soap this year, has been grieving for his dad Bill, who died last April within two weeks of being told he had a brain tumour.

The 45-year-old star then lost his Uncle Barry before Christmas and his Uncle George and Aunt Pat within days of each other – who died from the same cancer that killed his dad.

Corrie newbie Will, who plays villain Harvey, explained: “It was just unbelievable.

“I felt everything come flooding back from what happened with Dad.

“I was back in a cloud again.”

More worry was to come just weeks before the first anniversary of his dad’s death.

Will’s wife had organised a family party for his birthday with his mum attending – and she suffered a suspected stroke the next day.

His sister called him to tell him the news and said: “I think Mum’s had a stroke.”

Recalling his reaction on his Two Pints with Will & Ralf podcast, he told Ralph Little: “I nearly collapsed. I just went cold. The cloud came in.

“I had to take a little break away to reorganise my head. I said ‘I’ll build a bar in my garden in the name of my dad for something to do’ but I couldn’t see properly.

“My eyes and everything were going funny. I thought it could be due to stress.

“Thankfully Mum’s going to be OK. It’s classed as a mini stroke.”

Will recently revealed he was wearing dad Bill’s ring as a tribute to him while filming scenes.

“I wear his ring and I look at it and think about him,” Will told the Daily Star

“I’ve even got my dad’s ring into my character on Coronation Street so he’s with me all the time on the show.”
