Here’s How Canelo Alvarez Makes $1.6 Million a Month Without Boxing

WBC and WBA super middle titleholder Canelo Alvarez takes on WBO super middle champion Billy Joe Saunders in a blockbuster unification bout on May 8. Recently, Alvarez sat down for an interview with Graham Bensinger. Among many things discussed were the Mexican’s riches and his future plans.

Alvarez gave a detailed insight into his earnings, and how he plans to open gas stations around Mexico. Alvarez also added that he is set for life and doesn’t need to fight for money, but his love for boxing is what keeps him competing.

Yes, as I said, I already have enough to retire right now, thank God. From everything that I’ve invested, I have… Every three months I have 4 and 5 million dollars that I receive, every three months,” said Alvarez about his investments in real estate.

So, I have enough of course to retire and have absolutely no problem. But I like boxing. And I am about to open 90 to 100 gas stations here in Mexico. They are gonna be called ‘Canelo Energy’,” he further added.

When you go to pump gas, I want everything to be Canelo’s, that’s my biggest challenge,” he concluded, talking about his future plans.

Canelo last competed in February this year as he stopped Avni Yildirim at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. He faces the undefeated British star, Saunders next.

Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders: Who has the edge going into the fight?

Saunders last fought in December 2020 as he defeated Martin Murray by unanimous decision. The 31-year-old will look to add to his perfect professional record of 30-0 when he fights Alvarez next month.

But Canelo is no stranger to undefeated British fighters. He earned a decision against Callum Smith in December last year. One might argue that Saunder’s achievements inside the squared ring can’t be compared to that of Smith. But fighting Alvarez is a different thing altogether.

The 30-year-old Mexican will be determined to further build on his astounding professional record of 55-1-2. He will become the unified super middle champion, should he defeat Saunders in the blockbuster clash.

What did you make of Canelo Alvarez’s incredible riches? Can he add Billy Joe Saunders to his collection of victims?
