Here’s What Stephen A. Smith Wants Aaron Rodgers to Learn From Tom Brady

Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers suffered a heart-wrenching end to their 2020 NFL campaign. The NFC North champions were beaten by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game earlier this year. Prior to that loss, the Packers were favorites to win the Super Bowl having also won the top-seed in the NFC.

But their 26-31 loss to the eventual Super Bowl LV winners brought an abrupt halt to their season. Despite yet another NFC Championship loss, Aaron Rodgers was adjudged as NFL MVP. He threw for 4,300+ passing yards and 50+ passing TDs to win his third MVP title.

Rodgers created huge controversy with his post-game comments after the NFC loss. But he confirmed that he will return with the Packers for the 2021 NFL season. However, his long-term future in Wisconsin is still under major doubt.

Stephen A. Smith weighs in on the Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay conundrum

Outspoken American TV personality, Stephen A. Smith, was the latest to give his two cents on the contract situation surrounding Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

“It’s not just about football with Mr. Rodgers. It’s about the manner in which he was treated. “

“And I think that when you get to a certain point in your career when you’ve established your level of greatness on the Hall of Fame level, and you’re basically told to shut up….and to know that there are a plethora of options out there that would treat you significantly better as a star, as a future Hall of Famer and as a human being than the Green Bay Packers have purportedly treated him in the past.”

“I do believe that it’s time for him to go somewhere else where he could feel better appreciated and enjoy the twilight of his career. I do believe of all the things he could learn from Tom Brady. That’s one of the top things he could learn from Tom Brady,” Smith said on the show.

Smith does make a valid point. But as co-host Max Kellerman later argued, Brady moved to Florida because he knew there’s a young and determined offense that he could lead.

For Aaron, it makes more sense to stay put in Green Bay, well, at least for now. They have Davante Adams, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and David Bakhtiari to support A-Rod.

Will he get the same caliber of teammates to work with if he opts to move to another NFL organization?
