Is Will Ospreay Next in Line for Kenny Omega and His Hunger for Glory?

Kenny ‘The Cleaner’ Omega is in full-swing right now and is in a mode to clean championships from all over! ‘The Cleaner’ won his third World title, i.e., the Impact World Championship at Rebellion 2021 from Rich Swann.

With three World titles on his shoulders and the forbidden door being open, will we see Kenny set sights on the IWGP Championship again? The possibilities are high!

Kenny Omega versus Will Ospreay in AEW?

Both Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay have made 2021 their year. While Kenny has set himself to be the ‘Belt Collector,’ Ospreay has earned, scratched, and clawed his way to winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Ospreay won the 2021 New Japan Cup and the Rights to Challenge Kota Ibushi for the IWGP Title.

To everyone’s surprise, Ospreay defeated Ibushi and made history becoming the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion at Sakura Genesis 2021. We strongly believe one half of the Golden Lovers would make his AEW debut sooner than later, but he surely will. In fact, we have already speculated why we could see Ibushi in Jacksonville.

As far as Kenny Omega goes, there is no stopping the ‘Best Bout Machine.’ While Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston are still like the nagging back ache in his life, Omega has his eyes on a greater prize. Don Callis has Kenny Omega the best World Champion of all-time, even better than the great’s of this business.

The Forbidden Door is wide open and it wouldn’t take more than a phone call for both sides to come to terms. However, we don’t believe we’ll see Omega going for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Why? There are two reasons.

The first reason is that there is nothing in this for NJPW. If Omega is going for the IWGP Title, then he must win it. If not, it doesn’t make sense. There is no way NJPW would give the win to Omega. They do not need the exposure in the mainstream wrestling world like Impact Wrestling. So, the desperation to pull off such a move is less.

Another reason we believe the two wouldn’t cross paths is because they’re both heels. Ospreay and Omega are doing some of the best heel work in recent memory, and two World Champions going at it wouldn’t be as exciting with the heel dynamic in consideration.
