Malin Andersson ‘doesn’t have it in her’ to detail recent heartbreaking miscarriage – but promises she’ll talk when ready
Malin Andersson has said she’s not ready to open about her recent heartbreaking miscarriage, insisting to fans she’ll talk when she’s ready.
Over the weekend the former Love Island star revealed she’d suffered a miscarriage after discovering she was pregnant a short while ago. The tragic news came two years after the death of her newborn baby daughter Consy, who was born seven weeks premature.
Sharing a short message to Instagram on Wednesday evening, Malin apologised to fans who were perhaps used to the reality star baring all on her channels.
She wrote alongside a selfie: ‘Sorry guys. You all know usually I like to do a selfie video and talk…and talk about how I feel and what’s going on.
‘Don’t really have it in me right now. I have the words but they won’t come out.’
Malin elaborated in a post on her grid, sharing an insight into how common miscarriages are in the UK while also revealing the ‘overwhelming’ number of messages she’d received after sharing her own battle.
She wrote: ‘In light of what’s happened to me, it’s made me realise how common miscarriages are & how many women it affects.
‘I’m overwhelmed with the amount of messages, and stories that I’ve been sent.
‘My heart truly cries for those that have experienced it too. I still don’t have enough in me to go into detail but once I’m ready I’ll talk. The feeling of being pregnant has brought back so many emotions in a different way… emotions I must have buried.’
To help raise awareness, she shared statistics from Tommy’s that included the UK miscarriage rate estimated to be 250,000 each year as well as it ‘doubling the risk of depression and quadrupling the risk of suicide’.
She also shared that 1 in 4 women have experienced miscarriage, and that recurrent miscarriage can result in future complications with birth.
Fans rallied around the Love Islander as she shared her message, with Jess Hayes writing: ‘Love you ❤️ these are crazy statistics 😢.’
Another thanked Malin for using her voice, as another branded her their ‘biggest inspiration’.
On Sunday, the 28-year-old shared a photo of two pregnancy tests – one positive and one negative – while explaining the reason for her brief absence from social media.
She revealed, adding the past few months hadn’t been easy for her: ‘I found out I was pregnant – and I then soon after miscarried. It pains me to talk about this in detail right now due to what happened to Consy.. but I want you all to know that miscarriage doesn’t discriminate and it can happen to anyone. Even when you think you have gone through enough.’
Reassuring fans of her wellbeing, she concluded: ‘I’ll be fine – my strength never ceases to amaze me sometimes but I felt that I needed to share this with you all as I’ve never been one to hold anything back – especially when I know it can help someone else.’
Reacting to the warm messages she’s received over the past couple of days, Malin later wrote: ‘I’m not going to lie to you all, I am broken. I put on a brave face a lot.. But I’m continuing to work as that’s what keeps me busy.’
She added optimistically: ‘I’m a strong soul, and I truly believe I’ve been tested.. In order to grow and create more resilience. To help spread and raise awareness on things nobody speaks about. To those that are worrying about me, I’m fine..
‘I’ll always be ok. I know there’s a bright future waiting for me.. Surely life can’t get any more cruel.’
Referring to her determination to have children in the future, she added: ‘My time will come.’

Sands UK is a stillbirth and neonatal death charity, which works to reduce the number of babies dying and to ensure that those affected by the loss of a baby receives the best possible care for as long as they need it.
The charity aims to better understand the causes of baby deaths and works with governments and other organisations to raise awareness of issues surrounding baby loss.
