Randy Brown Ready to Replace Diego Sanchez in the Fight Against Donald Cerrone

Diego Sanchez was scheduled to face Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at the UFC event on May 8. It was supposed to be ‘The Nightmare’ Sanchez’s retirement fight, but the veteran has withdrawn from the bout due to undisclosed reasons. Despite the event being just under 10 days away, Donald Cerrone is still willing to fight and is waiting for a challenger at 170 lbs.

One name that has been brought into the mix is Randy Brown. ‘Rude Boy’ (13-4) is an orthodox fighter and competes in the UFC’s Welterweight division.

The Welterweight fighter, who has remained inconsistent since his arrival in the UFC, desperately needs to be active and get on a winning streak to rise in the rankings. Therefore, Brown recently showed his interest in fighting Cerrone by replacing Sanchez at the event.

In response to a Twitter post that said @TouchNgo_ would you be down to fight @Cowboycerrone next Saturday in Vegas? Diego pulled out,” ‘Rude Boy’ replied, “Definitely!”

Donald Cerrone is a 38-year-old fighter and has failed to win in his last five battles. Randy Brown is no stranger to the fact. Therefore, he would love to beat ‘Cowboy’ and hand his own career some much-needed momentum. However, Brown is not alone in expressing his interest in sharing the octagon with Cerrone.

UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland has also thrown his name into the mix, as has been the norm with him and short-notice fights. He has made his intentions clear with a social media post.

‘Trailblazer’ wrote, “I’ll run my a** off I’ll sleep upstairs with my heat maxed out and a suna suit on your a legend nothing but respect @cowboycerrone ! I’ll gladly step up Probably come in around 175 but if the cowboy needs a dog to go along for the ride maybe show you a few tricks…..

Replacing Sanchez will be a top priority task for the UFC matchmakers, and it’ll be interesting to see who they pick. Will it be Brown or Holland? Or could they shock the UFC fans with a different name altogether?
