WATCH: Wizards Forward Punishes Lakers’ Anthony Davis at the Rim and Leaves Him Embarrassed

The Lakers are in desperate need of some wins because they have the Mavericks pulling their tail. They have their #5 seed on the line and know that things can quickly change in a week’s time.

The Wizards tested their grit in the Wednesday night game and almost put the LA-based team to shame on certain plays. After a poor start for the Wizards on their defensive end, the DC side soon picked the rhythm and took the charge of the game. Their starting five completely overpowered the Lake Show.

When Anthony Davis missed a block and almost injured himself

It seems as if the stars are yet not aligned for the star forward Anthony Davis. Remember how he was wobbling in his return game against the Mavericks after an opponent stepped over his foot? Well, a poster dunk from Wizards’ Rui Hachimura perhaps did even worse to AD’s confidence.

At the beginning of Q3, the Wizards were leading 65-59 when the DC forward made a running dunk on AD. He did complete justice to a long pass from Bradley Beal and made a contact with The Brow’s nose, forcing him off-balance. Take a close look –

That Kyle Kuzma had to give his hands for AD to stand spoke about the shock it gave him. No wonder neither the commentators nor the fans get to regularly see the 6’10” big man getting posterized by a 6’8” youngster.

The Lakers lost the following two quarters after taking a 4-point lead in the first one. By the end of Q3, the Wizards led 90-77 with four of their starting five already brimming with confidence after knocking down double figures. Russell Westbrook was again on a phenomenal show, completing his triple-double with an entire quarter worth of play remaining. Center Alex Len made a great defensive outing and saw support from Ish Smith. Apart from Davis Bertans, the entire squad appeared locked in.

On the other hand, the Lakers lost the grip of the game with both Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Dennis Schroder struggling offensively throughout the game. Apart from Andre Drummond and Montrezl Harrell, it was a poor show from the defending champion.

Also, shout out for the Wizards because they have literally turned the boats in April. Do you see the Wizards continuing this dream run? Help us know in the comments.
