Andy Ruiz Jr. believed he would be the first boxer of Mexican descent to become the world champion and made the tattoo before his fight against Alexander Dimitrenko.
The belief turned out to be true when Ruiz Jr. defeated Anthony Joshua to grab the WBO, WBA IBF, and IBO heavyweight titles, right after beating Dimitrenko.
Andy Ruiz Jr, a devout Christian, has inked clasped hands to recognize the power of prayer on his chest. Further, there are several roses alongside, and the flowers are reportedly dedicated to Ruiz Jr’s family and loved ones.
