George Clooney ‘not thrilled’ about turning 60 but admits it’s ‘better than dead’
George Clooney has admitted he’s not jumping for joy ahead of his next milestone birthday.
The Ocean’s Eleven star opened up about turning 60 on May 6, explaining that he won’t be celebrating.
‘As far as turning 60, listen, I’m not thrilled with it but it’s better than dead,’ he said. ‘So I’ll take it. I got two options.’
Sounds like he needs something to brighten up his big day – whip-round for a Colin (or Cuthbert) the Caterpillar cake, anyone?
Dad-of-two George also opened up about trying to instil charitable values in their three-year-old twins Ella and Alexander with his wife Amal.
He added to Entertainment Tonight: ‘They’re not quite four yet so they don’t [understand].
‘My kids will always say, they’ll pick up a toy and they’ll go, “This is for the poor people.” And I go, ‘Good. OK, so let’s put it in the basket and we’ll take it to the poor people.’ And then there’s this shock on their face when reality hits.
‘But I hope so. My parents always taught me that the best things you could do [is] challenge people in power and look out for people who aren’t in power and those kinds of things.’
George and Amal, 43, tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed the twins in 2017.
While many A-listers are known for giving their kids very, erm, unique names, the actor previously revealed he had no intention of jumping on that trend.
Speaking to AARP magazine, George said: ‘I didn’t want, like, weird-a** names for our kids.’
Asked why, he teased: ‘They’re already going to have enough trouble. It’s hard being the son of somebody famous and successful.’
Fair point!
