Jalen Suggs Tells ‘Big Shot’ Robert Horry How He Felt After Hitting Final Four Game Winner

Jalen Suggs could be the savior of one of the franchises in the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery. He is a versatile combo guard that can perform on both sides of the floor. But his biggest intangible has to be his fearlessness and clutch ability on the court. That ability was on full display in the Gonzaga Bulldogs vs UCLA Bruins game from the Final Four.

Suggs hit a near half-court three at the buzzer to save the Bulldogs undefeated season and make it to the Championship game. While the Bulldogs went on to lose the championship, that moment was absolutely phenomenal and had everyone buzzing. But Robert Horry is the resident big-shot maker in the NBA, and he got to ask Suggs about his big-shot moment.

“I’ve heard all about Big Shot Rob. It was surreal. Those are the ones that when you’re in the gym messing around and throwing shots up, these are the moments you live out. To actually be present in one of those, to live out that dream that I’ve had since I was a kid. That was surreal. I just going straight to the table. That was the first thing on my mind.”

Jalen Suggs: Can his ability translate to the NBA?

Jalen Suggs would be a top pick for the NBA draft in any year. However, top picks with hype out of college don’t always transition to the professional level. Suggs is also ranked behind Cade Cunningham, who is looked at as the consensus top pick and a franchise changer.

Suggs may not have the same reputation, but he has a fantastic body of work. While this Gonzaga team had a lot of weapons, Suggs was the orchestrator. He has shown floor vision beyond his years and can evidently make shots when the stakes are at their highest. But his physicality in the NBA will be a big question.

The top prospect is predicted to be top-five right now, with many having made cases for him to go higher. But if there were doubts about him, that shot against UCLA silenced most critics.
