Mike Tyson Says Oscar Valdez’s Punches “Are Like Slow Motion”

Mike Tyson, one of the most vicious punchers of all time, recently scrutinized the WBC super featherweight champion, Oscar Valdez’s chances in a fight against Shakur Stevenson. 54-year-old Tyson has sparked some electrifying fight talks on his podcast and he turned his attention to yet another weight class.

29-0 as a professional, Valdez is one of the most reputed hard-hitters on the roster. He has attained 23 knockouts as of now, including his recent win over Miguel Berchelt for the WBC belt. So, he can rightfully boast his prowess amongst his contemporaries.

However, Mike Tyson still found a loophole and addressed how Shakur Stevenson could beat him. In interaction with Stevenson in his latest podcast, ‘Iron’ Mike spoke his mind.

Mike Tyson, while watching Oscar Valdez’s highlights, with Henry Cejudo and Shakur Stevenson, said, “Oh fm, see these guys. That’s him right here to the open punch like that. You can see these punches coming from a mile away. Because I could see punches. Like that when I was fighting, from a mile away. They are hard but they are like slow motion.”

Meanwhile, Oscar Valdez is now at the 130 lbs division and will stay there for a while. He might even move to a bigger weight class and aim for more world titles. However, that wouldn’t stop Mike Tyson from trying to play matchmaker, as he did with Teofimo Lopez and Ryan Garcia.

Mike Tyson is still making fights in the boxing world

A few months back, Mike Tyson brought the WBC Interim 135 lbs Ryan Garcia, and WBA 135 lbs Gervonta Davis, face-to-face via video call in his podcast. While Garcia was the guest, ‘Iron’ Mike face-timed ‘Tank’ and unleashed an intense verbal banter between the lightweight elites.

He repeated the same with unified champion Teofimo Lopez and WBC titlist Devin Haney when the former appeared as a guest on his show. Now, with Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez similarly aligned, Mike Tyson seems the perfect matchmaker for the present generation.
