If there’s anything showbiz obsessives love, it’s a throwback to a 90s or noughties celeb It couple.

You remember when we lost our collective mind when Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt embraced at the SAG Awards, right?

Well, this month it’s Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck that has us losing it, and Busy Philipps is right there with us.

On Friday, pictures emerged of Ben, 48, getting out of what is believed to be his ex-fiancée Jennifer’s car in Los Angeles.

Although the stars weren’t pictured together, Page Six reported that the actor gets picked up in a white Escalade SUV by security and gets taken to Lopez’s nearby mansion, before being dropped back home a few hours later.

Just the suggestion of Bennifer hanging out sent folks wild, including actress Busy Philipps, who tweeted: ‘Good lord let it happen.’

Busy – who was sitting next to Ben at the Oscars during the legendary Moonlight/La La Land best picture mix-up – also shared the story to her Instagram stories and wrote: ‘OMG IS IT HAPPENING?!’ and considered doing an ‘emergency episode’ of her podcast.

While gossip lovers are in a tizzy due to the timing – Jennifer, 51, has just split from fiancé Alex Rodriguez – sources were keen to stress that Ben and Jen have always remained friends.

A source told People: ‘They are friends. They have always been friends and they have seen each other through the years.’

Recently, Ben complimented his ex when she appeared on the cover of InStyle, asking: ‘Where are you keeping the fountain of youth?

‘Why do you look the same as you did in 2003 and it kind of looks like I’m in my 40s … at best?’

JLo said: ‘I don’t have any [beauty] secrets except JLo Beauty — and I’m giving them all to everyone with every product. Ben is funny! He still looks pretty good too.’

Months after her split from husband Cris Judd, Jennifer met Ben on the set of the soon-to-be critically panned film Gigli, and thus began one of the most publicised relationships in Hollywood – Bennifer.

Their romance coincided with the rise of the internet and tabloid magazines, and they were basically ominpresent, with Ben famously starring in JLo’s video for Jenny From The Block.

Things reached fever pitch as they prepared to get married, after a year’s engagement.

However, their wedding in September 2003 was called off with four days to go due to ‘excessive media attention’, and Bennifer split four months later.

Speaking about the attention their relationship received, Oscar winner Ben said: ‘You know, there’s always a story of the month, and me dating Jennifer Lopez happened to be that tabloid story at the time when that business grew exponentially.

‘Still, to this day, [some] will go, “I see you out there in the paparazzi and the pictures!” It’s like, “Yes, I left my house and took out the trash. It’s not like I’m trying to…” And it’s still like, “You were taking a pap walk!”’

After Ben’s split from JLo, he began dating another Hollywood Jen, Jennifer Garner, and the pair tied the knot in 2005, going on to welcome three children together before splitting in 2015.

Most recently, the Argo star split from actress Ana De Armas.

JLo went on to marry Marc Anthony, with whom she shares 13-year-old twins Max and Emme, but their divorce was finalised in 2014.

The On The Floor singer confirmed last month that she and baseball star Alex had broken off their engagement after four years together.

In a shared statement, they said: ‘We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.’
